Poker room
Finding the right poker room is important when locating a good place to play poker, especially if you’re doing so online. You need to be extremely choosy, as not all poker suppliers are on the level, so to speak, and may not offer the kind of software or support you need to carry off a successful game.

Many a poker room has tried to earn back trust lately by offering a function known as rake back. In the terms of the online poker room a rake back is when the room awards a certain portion of what a player has paid to the room back to keep that player in the room. In others words, rake back is a way to keep people playing after they should probably have been shunted from the game.

Unfortunately rake back is an often shady business proposition. The money often comes from a third - party candidate who pays the player in a direct fashion, not from the room itself (in other words rake back is not some new option they’ve installed in the software, it’s a less - than - legitimate poker tactic carried out by less - than - scrupulous third party business owners).

Make no mistake, rake back is a good way to keep players in the game, but rake back also usually draws highly experienced players into the card arena. Known malevolently as sharks, these guys and girls will make mincemeat out of any newcomers looking to take advantage of the rake back. As such newcomers are advised to avoid rake back rooms and look for easier, lower - stake places to play when they’re first starting out. Leave the high stakes stuff for when you’ve acquired enough money and poker experience to become a shark in your own right.

Rake back is useful so long as you’re consistent. Just beware: the lure of extra money is sure to catch the nose of card sharks everywhere online and bring them floating over to your room. And once they’re there a bloodbath is sure to ensue, one that you may or may not escape from unscathed in the end.
